Investigated on suspicion of illegal use of propofol, Yoo Ah In was detected using marijuana after a urine test. The test results prompted the police to conduct digital forensics for a more in-depth investigation.
In Yoo Ah In's urine test results, the main component of marijuana was found. As is known, the "Hellbound" star is currently under investigation regarding allegations of using illegal propofol since early February.
The latest episode of KBS2 "Entertainment Company Live" which aired on Thursday (16/2) explained actor Yoo Ah In. The program traces that this case has been investigated since last year.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety asked the police to investigate 51 people who prescribed prescriptions and large doses of propofol through an analysis of the integrated drug management system. Among them, Yoo Ah In was accused of habitually prescribing propofol for non-medical purposes since 2021.
Upon arrival of Yoo Ah In from the US on February 5, his body was searched and urine and hair samples were taken from the airport. The main components of cannabis were then detected in the results of a simple urine test. A precise analysis has also been requested by the National Institute of Scientific Investigation (NFS).
After the results of the urine test came out, Yoo Ah In's cellphone was confiscated. The cell phone was confiscated for a more in-depth investigation into the alleged drug abuse case.
Through Yoo Ah In's cellphone, digital forensics and detailed drug evaluation results were also carried out. The police need to find evidence related to the use of marijuana or propofol through the actor's digital activities.
