Last month, Han Sung Soo was said to have received an unfair advantage from royalties for IZ * ONE's music by registering his copyright under his wife's name.

Han Sung Soo who is the CEO of Pledis Entertainment some time ago was reportedly benefited unfairly from the music royalties of IZ * ONE. Last month, Han Sung Soo was said to have benefited unfairly from royalties for IZ * ONE music by registering his copyright under his wife's name.

Dispatch released an exclusive report stating that the CEO claimed to have been involved in writing lyrics for eight IZ * ONE songs under the name "So Jay". The identity behind So Jay himself is the wife of Han Sung Soo which So Jay gets an unfair advantage from royalty because he doesn't really participate in making songs for the album IZ * ONE.

Han Sung Soo has stated that although he has participated in the music making process and wants to be compensated for it, he does not think of receiving royalties under his wife's name. Yesterday, Monday (6/15), Dispatch released another report related to the development of the case.

Dispatch stated that they had checked with the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA) to find out that only one of the eight previous songs was registered under the name So Jay. So Jay is no longer registered as a lyricist for any song and only has rights to the song IZ * ONE entitled "We Together" as a composer.

According to Dispatch, Han Sung Soo will also return the royalties he gets unfairly under his wife's name. A source from Pledis Entertainment confirmed that the report was indeed true. They told Sports Kyunghyang that Han Sung Soo had now given up and would return the royalties.

"The report stating that CEO Han Sung Soo gave up his rights to IZ * ONE songs and will return the royalties he unfairly took on behalf of his wife is true. The report states that these are seven songs (for which he gave his copyright), but "His rights to the remaining song 'We Together' will also be given up. He now has no part of the song IZ * ONE," said the agency representative.

Han Sung Soo himself was previously a general producer for IZ * ONE until he resigned from the position in March 2020. Han Sung Soo's resignation from his position as IZ * ONE producer was because he wanted to focus on his agency, Pledis Entertainment.
