The trial of Seungri's case who received 9 charges was again carried out today, January 27, 2022 which is to process an appeal against his sentence.
As it is known that Seungri is currently indicted for the offense of special economic crimes, violation of the food sanitation law, embezzlement, sexual crimes, gambling habits, violation of the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act, mediation of prostitution, purchase of prostitution services, and special incitement to violence.
Through an appeal hearing held today (27/01), the judge decided to reduce Seungri's sentence, which was originally sentenced to 3 years in prison, to 1 year and 6 months in prison. The sentence was followed by a fine of 1,156,900,000 KRW (approximately 13.8 billion IDR).
It is known that the reduced sentence against Seungri was the result of the change in his attitude since the first trial. Seungri, who previously denied 8 charges against him, has now admitted to all the charges and expressed his regret.
After the first trial in 2021, Seungri has been detained by the court. The appeal sentence case has also been resolved because neither Seungi nor the prosecution filed an appeal, making Seungri free within a year and a month.
