Former G-Friend Yuju Discusses the Hardest Obstacles as an Idol and the Pressure of Preparing a Solo Album

Yuju talked about his solo debut album, 'REC.' and the title track, 'Play'. Although this is his new start as a musician, he has a good 7 years of experience as an idol.

Yuju recently did a photo shoot and did an interview with Fault magazine. The former G-Friend member talked about his solo debut, and looked back on his long career of 7 years from being a member of a girl group to a solo singer.

In the interview, Yuju talked about her solo debut album, "REC." and the title track, "Play", for which he participated in writing the lyrics. Although this is his new start as a musician, he has a good 7 years of experience as an idol.

Yuju was asked to talk about the obstacles he thought were the most difficult to overcome. "When you look back on your artistic journey, what do you think was the toughest obstacle you had to overcome?" asked Fault.

Yuju shared that as an idol, she found that maintaining her physique and maintaining the visual standards expected of her was one thing she found very difficult, and also mentioned having to take care of her emotions as another.

"I think it's just aspects of my physical conditioning and emotional control. Since I'm human and not a machine, it's not always easy," said Yuju.

When asked if she could go back to her early career and give herself one piece of advice, Yuju replied, "I would say to myself, "Let's stay calm, stay true to ourselves and do well."

Regarding whether she has ever felt pressure to live up to the high expectations that so many people have for her debut solo album, Yuju said, "It would be a lie if I said there was no pressure, but I just tried to enjoy it as best as I could and remember how blessed I am to be in this position, with my fans, and people who care about me."
