As a Tax Service Officer, Siwan Determines to Break This Stereotype While Filming 'Tracer'
While attending the press conference for 'Tracer' on Tuesday (4/1) today, Siwan expressed his determination to break certain stereotypes while filming the drama.

On Tuesday (4/1), MBC held a press conference for its new drama entitled "Tracer". The event was attended by director Lee Seung Young and the main cast, including Siwan.

"Tracer" is about the new team leader of Division 5 at the National Tax Service Investigation Bureau. This division is also known as the "dumping ground" which many people fear more than the prosecutors and judges.

Siwan plays Hwang Dong Ju, the head of the division who works hard to track down money hidden from the tax service. His team includes Seo Hey Young (Ko Ah Sung) and his boss, Oh Young (Park Yong Woo).

In today's press conference, director Lee Seung Young revealed the big picture of "Tracer". He said, "This is a story about people who were kicked out of the National Tax Service because the agency couldn't handle them anymore."

The director continued, "Together, they chase bad people and the money they have. I chose cheerful actors to break the stereotype of our drama which is too rigid."

In line with the director, Siwan also revealed that he was trying hard to break the stereotype of tax inspectors. That way, he can convey heavy scenes in a light way.

Siwan explained, "I'm trying to break away from the stereotype of the tax inspector. Hwang Dong Joo's words and actions are quite witty, uplifting and there's something about him that scratches the itch."

To increase anticipation, Park Young Woo talked about the interesting plot of the drama. "Division 5 itself is very fun and contains people who can relate to anyone. There are unexpected conflicts, so you can enjoy it," he said.

Ko Ah Sung added, "This is against the National Tax Service. But I want people to enjoy the drama even without having prior knowledge of this agency. You will have no choice but to fall in love with the story and the actors' chemistry."

Meanwhile, "Tracer" is prepared to replace the broadcast slot of "The Red Sleeve" on Friday - Saturday night MBC. The plan, this drama will start airing on January 7th. (wk/eval)
