In the debut showcase, Kep1er is the official color for them and the fandom. However, the girl group is now being asked to change them because they resemble the official colors of other singers.

Kep1er finally debuted on January 3 with the release of a mini album titled "First Impact" which includes the title track "WA DA DA". Along with this, they announced the official fandom name and colors, which in turn caused discontent from non-fans.

In the debut showcase, Kep1er announced that their fandom name is Kep1an, which is pronounced Keplian. This word combines Kep1er and "guardian". Kep1er and Kep1ian have official colors lavender-white and lavender-yellow, respectively.

However, the girl group is now being asked to change their official color because they resemble another singer's official color, Jung Sewoon. A Twitter user who is also a fan of Jung Sewoon showed the resemblance in his post.

Netizens on the online community site Theqoo also highlighted and discussed the similarities between the official colors of Kep1er and Jung Sewoon. But instead of criticizing, they judged that this was not something to be concerned about.

"There are many idol groups but the colors are limited, don't compete for color," commented netizens. "I don't even know why there is an official idol group color," said another netizen. "Thanks to you, I got to know a group called Kep1er," said another.

"That's why I think it's good that the group doesn't have an official color," said a netizen. "Well... Wasn't this a controversial issue in the early 2000s?" another comment. "It's funny when the official colors are just for you. Who gave you permission to use them?" added another.

Meanwhile, fandom color had become a necessity for second and third generation groups, one of which was to distinguish the color of their fans' lightsticks at joint concerts such as "Dream Concert". But now with more and more idols debuting and increasingly sophisticated lightstick technology so that the color of the light can be controlled to the rhythm of the song, the color of fandom seems to be no longer a matter of debate.
