Choi Minho will soon make a comeback starring in the drama entitled "Family X Melo". The SHINee member will play the character Nam Tae Pyung, a guy who decides to find his own path in life according to his principles.
Tae Pyung hides his identity as the son of the president of the large company J Plus Mart. He worked two jobs at once, switching between being a security guard at a mini market and a taekwondo instructor.
The news about Minho's new role in "Family X Melo" sparked misunderstanding among netizens. Many initially mistakenly thought that Minho really had the status of being the son of the president of a large company. In fact, those are all just characters in his new drama.
"I think his dad quit being a football manager and started a business[sic!]," wrote one netizen. "Oh, I didn't know about his father, so I thought it was real. It kind of makes sense (that he's the company president's son), so I was like, 'Hmm..'[sic!]," added another.
"That surprised me[sic!]," said another netizen. "Even though I know about him, I still think, 'J...? Company J??'[sic!]," added another. "Oh my God, I'm a fan, and I was very surprised by the title," continued another netizen.
On the other hand, "Family X Melo" tells the story of people who feel their lives are incomplete. They gather together as a family and dream of complete love. This drama was written by Kim Young Yoon of "My Secret Romance".
"Family X Melo" was directed by director Kim Da Ye who previously worked on "My ID Is Gangnam Beauty". Apart from Minho, this JTBC drama also stars a number of popular names such as Ji Jin Hee, Kim Ji Soo, A Pink's Son Naeun, and ASTRO's Sanha.
