Kim Byung Chul shares stories about his interest in playing in the drama Perfect Family (Instagram collage @kbcloops @kbsdrama)
Kim Byung Chul joined the latest drama Perfect Family along with one of his co-stars in SKY Castle.
Based on a popular webtoon, Perfect Family is a mystery drama in which a seemingly happy and perfect family begins to suspect each other when their daughter is involved in a murder.
The drama is directed by Japanese filmmaker Isao Yukisada and marks his Korean drama debut.
Kim Byung Chul plays Choi Sun Hee's (played by Park Ju Hyun) adoptive father, Choi Jin Hyuk.
He is a lawyer and father who is devoted to his daughter, even changing his career and quitting his job as a prosecutor to become a lawyer.
Kim Byung Chul revealed what made him interested in becoming one of the actors in this drama.
"I was intrigued by the storyline and eager to see how the story would unfold when I read the script," he said.
"The script's ability to maintain excitement and suspense is very interesting to show and I am eager to see how the mysterious atmosphere in the script will manifest on screen," he added.
Kim Byung Chul also explained about his character, that his character as Choi Jin Hyuk is the head of the family who looks perfect to everyone.
"I found his transformation process very interesting, I approached the role by considering what he wanted and the influence he received and exerted in his complicated relationships with various people in his life," said Kim Byung Chul.
Kim Byung Chul also praised the harmonious atmosphere on the set, especially Yoon Se Ah, who he previously worked with as a married couple in the hit drama SKY Castle.
Kim Byung Chul said, "Yoon Se Ah always brings positive energy to the set, is a good influence on me, and contributes to a smooth and successful filming experience."
Kim Byung Chul also asked viewers to give lots of love and attention to the drama Perfect Family.
