(G)I-DLE is currently actively promoting its comeback on various music shows. However, the outfit Miyeon wore when appearing on "Music Bank" on the 19th drew criticism. The reason is, they used the red cross symbol without permission.

When performing the song "Klaxon", (G)I-DLE members were seen wearing tight sleeveless tops with the words "LIFEGUARD". Shuhua cs completed their appearance by wearing red shorts.

(G)I-DLE members were also seen wearing red bags around their waists, which are considered emergency equipment. Yuqi cs increasingly beautified their appearance with items such as whistles and lifeguard-style hats.

This lifeguard concept actually fits the summer theme of the song "Klaxon". However, controversy arose because the outfit was considered sexual objectification. Plus, they used the Red Cross symbol without permission.

The sign used on (G)I-DLE's outfit is officially prohibited from being used without permission from the Korean Red Cross. The organization even launched a campaign in May to ban the use of the Red Cross symbol without permission.

According to media MHN Sports, the Korean Red Cross stated, "There was no request for permission from (G)I-DLE regarding the use of the Red Cross symbol. After this issue was raised by the Institute of International Humanitarian Law, which manages the symbol, they plan to prevent this incident from happening again . However, because there was no intentional misuse, no fines or penalties will be imposed."

According to the Korean Red Cross Law, use of the Red Cross emblem without permission can result in a fine of around 5-10 million won. Although unauthorized use continues by hospitals and pharmacies, the Red Cross has applied for trademarks for three types of Red Cross symbols to prevent unauthorized use.

Meanwhile, netizens also criticized the outfit for being too revealing and not appropriate for a real lifeguard. "Which lifeguard does the rescue in that outfit?[sic!]," wrote one netizen.

"The outfit is too provocative[sic!]," added another. "What's wrong with the coordination? Didn't they use the Red Cross symbol without permission? [sic!]," said another netizen. "The clothes are too uncomfortable[sic!]," added another. (wk/charity)
