The uniqueness of one of the TREASURE members made him pass the YG Entertainment audition.
Through a video uploaded on Lee Seung Hoon Winner's Youtube channel on February 23, YG's chief recruiter shared his experience.
Starting from the criteria and stages that must be passed by prospective trainees to how the staff recruits students to be trained to become idols, Suk Eun Jae as YG's casting leader shared his interesting experience.
In charge of the Japanese unit, Suk Eun Jae claims that he took part in the selection of trainees for boy group TREASURE and YG's new group, BABYMONSTER.
He said that there was one TREASURE member who, when he saw his audition video, immediately said 'very unique'.
He considered the audition to be one of the most memorable of his career.
"In the recording he looks up at the sky, like he's possessed," exclaimed Suk Eun Jae.
"We wondered if we could train him. We are a little doubtful," he continued.
The TREASURE member in question is a member from Sakura country, namely Asahi.
Luckily, they saw Asahi's potential and made it through to the second round. Where they were surprised by Asahi's visuals when they saw it in person.
"Then we met him in person, and he was fine," said Suk Eun Jae.
When asked why she looks up at the sky, Asahi replied that she didn't know the standard protocol where she has to look at the camera during auditions and that answer made her look innocent. /kpopchart.net
