The film 'Soulmate' tells the story of the essence of human relations over 14 years of meeting and parting, friendship and love, longing and jealousy between two best friends.
Recently Kim Da Mi appeared in an interview with media Wikitree at a cafe in Palpan-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul to talk about her upcoming new movie "Soulmate". The film, which will be released on March 15, tells the story of the essence of human relations over 14 years of meeting and parting, friendship and love, longing and jealousy between two best friends Mi So (Kim Da Mi) and Ha Eun (Jeon So Nee) who first met in age 13.
Adapted from the Chinese film of the same title which was released in 2017, "Soulmate" features Kim Da Mi playing the free-spirited Mi So. Talking about Jeon So Nee who plays Ha Eun, Kim Da Mi said, “She is the type of person who never stops acting. He kept asking questions like 'Is this true?' and see things from different points of view. I find that part subtle.”
Kim Da Mi also expressed her affection for Jeon So Nee, “The best part is that she interpreted Mi So's character the same way I did. Even when I didn't say anything, he still knew that Mi So had to act this way, and he gave me a better opinion than I thought. I feel like he understands and sympathizes with Ha Eun and Mi So, so I was very happy and comfortable acting with him.”
As for Byeon Woo Seok who plays Jin Woo, who protects the friendship between the two girls, Kim Da Mi praised, “He keeps asking actors and directors what is better on set. It's great to see him trying his best. I am very grateful and happy to work with him."
Meanwhile Kim Da Mi made her debut through the independent film "Project With The Same Name" in 2017. In 2020, Kim Da Mi made her television debut in the JTBC television series "Itaewon Class" which was adapted from the webtoon of the same name and successfully catapulted her name and won her the Best New Actress (TV) Award at the 56th Baeksang Arts Awards.
