The 2023 Golden Disc Awards (GDA) award event was held on Saturday (7/1) today by presenting a number of popular singers and groups. Here, three popular rookie girl groups namely, LE SSERAFIM, and took home the same award.
It is undeniable that this year is the year for 4th generation girl groups especially IVE, LE SSERAFIM, and NewJeans. And as if to prove this, these three girl groups won the Rookie Artist award at the 2023 GDA event.
In the past year, IVE has spawned three hits starting with their debut song, "ELEVEN", which was released in December 2022. The success of Jang Won Young and friends was continued with their second single, "Love Dive", which managed to top the Melon chart for the longest time. which is old.
IVE's success continued with their third single, "After Like", which cemented their status as rookie monsters. Even through "Love Dive", IVE managed to bring home the Daesang award at the award event which was held at the end of last year.
On the other hand, NewJeans kicked off the music world with their presence which seemed to bring fresh air with three singles at once, "Attention", "Hybe Boy", "Cookie". The girl group has just come back with a new single album, which includes singles "Ditto" and "OMG", and has again topped the Melon chart.
LE SSERAFIM also made waves with their debut. Fronted by Miyawaki Sakura and Kim Chaewon who are former members of the girl group IZ * ONE. Even though they lost one member, the girl group made by Source Music did not lose their enthusiasm on stage, as evidenced by the Best Dance Performance award they received earlier.
