While attending the 'Love All Play' press conference on Wednesday (20/4), the director revealed his reasons for choosing Park Ju Hyun and Chae Jong Hyeop as the main characters. What is the full narrative?
On Wednesday (20/4), KBS held a press conference for its new drama entitled "Love All Play". On this occasion, director Jo Woong revealed his reasons for choosing Park Ju Hyun and Chae Jong Hyeop as the main characters.
"Love All Play" focuses on the story of a promising badminton athlete named Park Tae Yang (Park Ju Hyun), who stops playing badminton due to an incident. Three years later, he decided to join Eunice's badminton team.
On the other hand, there is Park Tae Joon (Chae Jong Hyeop), a badminton player who only sees sport as a job. He was kicked out of the town hall team and signed with Eunice's team. There, she met Park Tae Yang.
First of all, the director revealed the interesting side of this drama. He said, "This is basically a teen sports romance drama. In it, there is a story about people and a unique comedy written by writer Heo Sung Hye. It will be a drama that you can enjoy comfortably."
He continued, "It's hard to say what makes it different from other sports dramas. When I first saw it, I thought it wasn't much different from other sports dramas. But while preparing for it, I thought the scene where the badminton players were practicing looked cool."
"The speed and power are very cool and I tried to capture it as best as possible. In my opinion, the point is to highlight stories about young people," added director Jo Woong.
The director then expressed his admiration for Chae Jong Hyeop and Park Ju Hyun who were able to portray their characters well, and why he chose them as the main characters.
He explained, "When I first saw the two actors, the characters and their level of synchronization were similar, but more colorful characters were born. I think the characters played by these actors are the same as the characters the writer wrote."
Regarding Park Ju Hyun, the director commented, "Park Ju Hyun has a strong charm when I watch 'Extracurricular' and I like the way he expresses sadness. (His character) Park Tae Yang is also brave and says what he wants to say, but he has internal wound."
As for Chae Jong Hyeop, the director shared, "Chae Jong Hyeop is a new actor that I've been watching for a long time. After our first meeting at the beginning of last year, I didn't think about any other actor besides Chae Jong Hyeop. So we did it together."
Meanwhile, "Love All Play" is prepared to replace the broadcast slot for "School 2021" on Wednesday and Thursday nights KBS. The plan, the writer's drama "Tomorrow With You" will start airing on Wednesday (20/4) tonight. (wk/eval)
