The name Park Chan-yeol or better known as Chanyeol EXO suddenly became the public spotlight. This happened after a YouTuber named Jang Si Nae admitted to receiving threats and abusive actions from a famous idol.
This was revealed by Jang when he was a guest on the YouTube channel Channel S, Wednesday (27/4/2022) and told his story about a famous idol who threatened him and cursed him. The incident happened while he was on his way to work.
"I was driving my scooter to work one day, and a man in a strange car behind me was driving dangerously. He came swiftly towards me from behind, and I avoided him. However, he then pointed his middle finger at me and I followed him to get his number plate, but he stopped at a traffic light," said Jang Si Nae quoted by MNC Portal Indonesia via Allkpop.
The woman admitted that she was curious about the actions taken by the driver of the car. He finally knocked on the car window to ask.
"He covered his face, and then kept rejecting me. He turned out to be an idol. He was a famous idol," he said.
Jang Si Nae's vlog also supports his statement about a male driver who is suspected of being a famous idol pointing his middle finger at him. However, it is difficult to see who is on the tape. After the confession went viral along with the evidence of the vlog, the public began to guess who the idol was and the allegations led to Chanyeol's figure, based on the car brand and the shape of his hand.
In response to this, SM Entertainment as EXO's agency where Chanyeol is sheltered finally officially denied the rumors about the artist suspected of being a man in the incident.
"The person in the video is not Chanyeol. The vehicle in question is different from Chanyeol's private car. We will take strict legal action against the spread of misinformation," wrote SM Entertainment's official statement.
