The end of episode 2 of 'Thirty Nine' showed a leak of the tragic ending of Jung Chan Young (Jeon Mi Do) which successfully made viewers cry. Here are the ratings.
JTBC's new drama, "Thirty Nine" begins to present problems amidst the friendship of Son Ye Jin, Jeon Mi Do and Kim Ji Hyun. If previously the existence of the 39-year-old trio brought a sense of comfort, this time viewers are saddened by the storyline.
"Thirty Nine" tells the story of the daily life of three women who are friends from the 2nd year of high school to the beautiful and emotional almost 40 years old. The three best friends consist of dermatologist Cha Mi Jo (Son Ye Jin), acting teacher Jung Chan Young (Jeon Mi Do), and department store cosmetics manager Jang Joo Hee (Kim Ji Hyun).
The story of their friendship has just rolled for two episodes, but viewers seem to be hit hard by the scene towards the end of the drama. "Thirty Nine" has shown the funeral scene of one of its main characters, namely Jung Chan Young. Before it was revealed, Cha Mi Jo received word from the doctor who checked the trio's health that Jung Chan Young was seriously ill.
In the scene, Cha Mi Jo and Jang Joo Hee are seen crying in front of Jung Chan Young's photo. Not only them, but when male characters such as Kim Sun Woo (Yeon Woo Jin), Kim Jin Seok (Lee Moo Saeng), and Park Hyun Joon (Lee Tae Hwan) were also present at the funeral.

JTBC's decision to leak Jung Chan Young's tragic ending then made viewers hysterical as seen in the search hashtag for the second episode of "Thirty Nine" on Twitter. Some viewers think that it is too early to show the end of the life of one of the main characters.
"WTF, why did they reveal it so early?" said one viewer. "It's too early, I'm crying now," added another viewer. "Omaigod, it's really sad. Even though I knew he was sick after seeing episode 1. My first thought before watching ep 1 was the character Ye Jin who would die, but I was wrong," continued another viewer.
Although it has succeeded in making viewers sad, "Thirty Nine" recorded an increase in ratings from the previous night. Based on Nielsen Korea, this drama scored a national rating with an average of 5.1 percent for episode 2 which aired on Thursday (17/2).
The rating gain of "Thirty Nine" has surpassed the best number of "Artificial City" which previously occupied the same slot. The drama, starring Soo Ae, got the best rating at 4.7 percent.
Meanwhile, the continuation of the beautiful and touching story of Cha Mi Jo cs can be seen on "Thirty Nine" next week. This 12-episode drama airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 22.30 local time. (wk/inta)
