Q The Boyz recently received negative attention for its requests to fans. The idol was criticized for being creative because he asked fans to pretend they didn't know him if they met him during a break.

Q recently held a live broadcast and told his fans not to take photos of him and act like they knew him during the group's long-term vacation during February. The reason is because it feels very uncomfortable when the fans do that.

Many netizens and fans criticized that Q should be grateful that fans recognized him in public and showed their support for him because he is not well known, instead of being a celebrity.

Many of the fans pointed out that Q seems to think he has the same level of popularity as BTS (Bangtan Boys) by copying their announcement from Big Hit Music.

After wrapping up the world tour, BTS is entering their long-term break. RM (Rap Monster) and friends are still resting and enjoying each other's time, until their concert in Seoul in March 2022.

Before entering the leave period, Big Hit Music released a statement asking fans to refrain from taking photos of BTS members or greeting them when meeting in public. Therefore, the agency asks for fans' consideration so that BTS can rest without interruption.

Q himself began to gain recognition from Korean fans through The Boyz's appearance on the Mnet competition show "Kingdom: Legendary War" in 2021. Many fans and netizens felt uncomfortable with his statement as if he was a top artist.

"Idols who treat their fans well will last a long time," commented netizens. "If I was an unknown idol, I would be happy if people recognized me," added another netizen. "Who is this nugu idol? Very creative," netizens criticized.

"I've never known this person and he acts like he's BTS or something," said another. "He should be grateful that fans took photos of him and recognized him. He was not very polite to fans who supported him," concluded another.

Meanwhile, The Boyz debuted on December 6, 2017 with the lead single "Boy" from the mini-album "The First." The group participated in "Kingdom: Legendary War," and finished in second place. (wk/chus)
