"Lee Hyunjoo has destroyed the lives of six people," said a netter. "I hope that the pain experienced by the six members will be felt by Hyunjoo," added the other netters. "Explain yourself!" said another.
"Lee Hyunjoo must be very happy now. Seeing the people you work with ended up like this, you seem to be going to die in happiness," said the other netters. "I hope all the disappointments of many people will return as misfortune because you can't stand to see them happy," said the other netters.
Sadly, netizens are not satisfied with just giving malicious comments. Because they also demanded an explanation and an official apology from Hyunjoo for the APRIL bullying controversy.
Meanwhile, Lee Hyunjoo left APRIL in 2016 after debuting as a member of the group in August 2015. He admitted that he left because he couldn't stand being bullied by his fellow members. Hyunjoo even admitted that he had tried "extreme options" because of depression due to bullying.
As a result of this disclosure, APRIL became the subject of public scrutiny which resulted in their popularity plummeting. Speculation and criticism increased after evidence of bullying was found in Hyunjoo's past videos.
However, public opinion started to turn around when APRIL's fans pointed out some gaps in Hyunjoo's claim. APRIL's agency and members also explained their position by saying, "There is no intimidation and harassment".
However, this controversy did not subside, causing APRIL and Hyunjoo to postpone their activities in the entertainment industry. At its peak, APRIL decided to disband after 7 years of promoting together. (wk/eval)
