Kim Nam Gil will soon greet viewers with the new SBS drama "Through the Darkness". Ahead of the broadcast of the drama, he discussed various interesting things about his character, Song Ha Young.
"Through the Darkness" is a drama based on the book of the same name. The story focuses on a South Korea's first criminal profiler as he struggles to read the hearts of serial killers.
Kim Nam Gil plays profiler Song Ha Young from the Scientific Investigations team for the Analysis of Criminal Behavior of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. Although outwardly lacking in emotion, Song Ha Young is able to read humans more deeply.
Recently, Kim Nam Gil revealed his reason for starring in this drama. He said, "I thought I was attracted to his professional background and uniqueness as the first profiler in Korea who could show a character I had never played through the character Song Ha Young. Also, I thought that playing a character based on an existing person would be a different challenge from previously."
"It's also interesting to be able to show people a story based on a non-fiction report in various ways. It feels good to talk about a world where 'Through the Darkness' has to take responsibility for their own lives in every way and live together, not alone. "
Kim Nam Gil then revealed some of the advantages possessed by his character. She said, "He has a strong sense of justice and responsibility, and he has excellent empathy for understanding other people's feelings in any situation."
"But on the outside, he seems indifferent. He is subtle and detailed and once he starts something, he has the tenacity to never give up until it's over."
