The Story of Jung Hae In Cs Leaves a Question Mark, 'D.P.' Confirmed to be working on Season 2 soon

The ending of Jung Hae In, Goo Kyo Hwan, and others in 'D.P.' still leaves questions unanswered. This Netflix original drama is confirmed to be working on season 2.

Netflix original drama starring Jung Hae In and Goo Kyo Hwan, "D.P." confirmed to be working on a second season. Prior to this, the military-themed drama had been successful by topping Netflix's list of TV shows in a number of countries.

Based on the popular webtoon, "D.P." (short for Deserter Pursuit) tells of a special military force sent to chase deserters. In this drama, Jung Hae In takes on the role of Ahn Jun Ho, a new recruit who is scouted by D.P. squad before adapting to military life. Meanwhile, Goo Kyo Hwan plays Han Ho Yeol, the leader of the D.P. squad.

Apart from discussing new topics and portraying charming characters, this drama also features a number of talented actors. Not only Jung Hae In and Goo Kyung Hwan, there are also Kim Sung Kyun, Son Seok Gu, and Cho Hyun Chul.

Kim Sung Kyun plays Sergeant Park Beom Gu who looks tired all the time. Sergeant Park Beom Gu seemed to be nagging and cursing at Ahn Jun Ho and Han Ho Yeol all the time but was always watching them. Meanwhile, Son Seok Guk plays First Lieutenant Lim Ji Seob who only cares about his success in the military.

Recently, "D.P." became the only South Korean show to be selected as one of the New York Times list of Best International Shows 2021. Viewers also praised the detailed and sharp depiction of the soldier's life story by director Han Joon Hee. Previously, the director had worked on the films “Coin Locker Girl” and “Hit-and-Run Squad.”

In the first season, "D.P." has left viewers unanswered questions so it is very likely that the story will continue. Season 2 will once again be a collaboration between director Han Joon Hi and writer Kim Bo Tong, who created the original webtoon on which the series is based.

In order to bring about a satisfying second season, "D.P." will work closely with Climax Studio in terms of the production process. The studio is already working on the first season and "Hellbound" which recently became a hit with Netflix viewers worldwide.

Meanwhile, there is no further information on when exactly "D.P." will be released. However, this drama is planned to return to accompany viewers through the Netflix application in 2022. (wk/inta)
