NU'EST's agency Pledis Entertainment shared that Ren had close contact with a COVID-19 patient, and even though he tested negative for the virus, he will be self-quarantining.
NU'EST Ren is known to have had contact with a party who was confirmed positive for COVID-19. The idol also underwent a test, the results of which have been announced by the agency, and will not attend the 2021 KBS Gayo Daechukje event.
On December 16, NU'EST's agency Pledis Entertainment shared that Ren had close contact with a COVID-19 patient, and even though he tested negative for the virus, he will be self-quarantining.
"We informed you about NU'EST Ren's schedule. On December 14 (Tuesday) evening, it was confirmed that he had close contact with a COVID-19 patient. Ren immediately underwent a PCR test on December 15 (Wednesday) and got a negative result," said the agency.
Fortunately, there hasn't been any contact between Ren and the other NU'EST members since the night of December 14, so there's no possibility of the other members getting infected. All NU'EST members completed the second round of COVID-19 vaccinations in early November.
Therefore, even if a person comes into contact with a confirmed patient, there is no restriction of external activity if the PCR test result is negative. In addition, Ren currently does not have any suspicious symptoms of infection such as fever or respiratory illness.
Nevertheless, taking into account the health and safety of those around him, Ren has voluntarily started self-quarantine on December 15, and he will receive additional PCR tests according to the measures of the public health center.
As a result, Ren will definitely be absent from the 2021 KBS Gayo Daechukje, which is scheduled to be held on December 17th tomorrow. Thus, NU'EST will take the stage as four members. The agency asks for understanding from fans.
"We will let you know when Ren will resume his activities as soon as it is confirmed. We will continue to prioritize the health and safety of our artists, and we will faithfully comply with requests and guidelines from health authorities. Thank you," concluded Pledis Entertainment. (wk/goddess)
