In the press conference of 'Sinkhole' the cast expressed their thoughts about the film. On that occasion, Cha Seung Won revealed the reason for wanting to act in the film.
Recently, the lineup of "Sinkhole" cast and director held an online press conference ahead of its release. The press conference was attended by Cha Seung Won, Kim Sung Kyun, Lee Kwang Soo, Kim Hye Joon, and not to mention the director Kim Ji Hoon.
"Sinkhole" is a disaster comedy about Park Dong Won (Kim Sung Kyun) who saved up for 11 years to buy a house only to be swallowed by a sinkhole in less than a minute. Although it tells the story of a terrible sinkhole opening in the heart of the city, this film tells the story of ordinary people's hopes for survival.
Regarding his character, Cha Seung Won didn't think twice when he agreed to play the role of Jung Man Soo, Park Dong Won's neighbor and single father who works in three professions to survive. In addition, he has a special talent for plunging into unexpected situations.
In regards to Jung Man Soo, Cha Seung Won commented, "There was a lot of computer graphics in the disaster, but considering the director's last project, 'Tower', there is no reason for me not to join the project. I think there will be a lot of cinematic fun for viewers to watch. how characters struggle to survive in tragic situations."
In addition, Cha Seung Won feels that he is very similar to Jung Man Soo. For him the character is not easy to describe because he has many jobs at one time. "He works in a gym, a photography center, and also for chauffeur services. Just like how he works in three professions, he is not an easy character to describe," he explained.
Next, Cha Seung Won revealed that Jung Man Soo is a hard worker but likes to talk. Apart from having strong survival skills, Jung Man Soo will do anything for his son.
On the other hand, director Kim Jo Hoon revealed that he planned "Sinkhole" after wondering what if the floor under the residence just collapsed. Although the theme of disaster, he hopes this film can more easily approach the audience. Meanwhile, "Sinkhole" can be watched starting August 11. (wk/inta)
