SEVENTEEN (II)'s new mini album is off to an impressive start on music charts worldwide. On Friday, June 19, SEVENTEEN made their highly anticipated comeback with their eighth mini album “Your Choice” and accompanying title track “Ready to Love.”
As of 8 a.m. KST on June 19, “Ready to Love” had reached No. 1 on the iTunes Top Songs chart in at least 22 different territories. These include Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay. “Your Choice” has also reached No. 1 on the iTunes Top Albums chart in at least 18 different regions, including Japan, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
According to Hanteo Chart, “Your Choice” sold an impressive total of 881,788 copies in its first day of sales alone. This is almost double SEVENTEEN’s previous first-day sales record of 462,003 set by their 2020 mini album “Heng:garae.”
With this latest achievement, SEVENTEEN is now the artist with the second highest first-day sales in Hanteo history, only surpassed by BTS (Bangtan Boys). “Your Choice” has also achieved the fourth-highest first-day sales of any album in Hanteo history, following BTS’s “Map of the Soul: 7,” “BE” and “Map of the Soul: Persona.”
“Ready to Love” is an R&B-based pop song about falling in love with a friend and getting ready to make a confession. Woozi composed the song together with BUMZU, Bang Si Hyuk, Wonderkid, Kyler Niko, Christoffer Semelius, and H.KENNETH.
The lyrics of the song itself were co-written by Woozi, S.Coups, and Mingyu along with BUMZU, danke, Bang Si Hyuk, and Kyler Niko. Besides writing "Ready To Love", Woozi also wrote all the songs on the album. Several members such as S.Coups, Mingyu, Wonwoo to Vernon also wrote songs on the album. (wk/putr)
