APRIL has become the center of attention regarding the bullying controversy that Hyun Joo is accused of. DSP Media and all of the APRIL members denied the accusations, but Hyunjoo and his acquaintances stuck to their story. The members ended up having an interview talking about this issue.
Recently, Sports Kyunghyang sat down with Chaewon, Naeun, Yena and Jinsol in an exclusive interview to discuss allegations of bullying. Rachel and Chaekyung did not participate in the interview, as they were not APRIL members when the alleged bullying incident occurred.
The members shared that they had been in therapy due to severe mental stress. "For us, time stops on February 28. We are not perpetrators but victims. Even though we did nothing wrong, we were accused of being criminals and because we are currently being treated as criminals, we want to set this straight," said the APRIL member.
Naeun shared her diary after Hyunjoo left the group in 2016, as well as notes on psychological counseling that lasted for 5 months from November 2015 to April 2016 with reporters. Naeun then straightened out the shoe and tumbler problem that Hyunjoo mentioned.
Naeun said, "Regarding the tumbler and shoe incident that Lee Hyun Joo claimed to be the victim, at that time there were between 2,300 pairs of shoes at the entrance of the dormitory. The shoes in question were company-owned sneakers that were given to us, two pairs for each member, sponsoring us to used during practice. They are shoes that a rookie girl group would accept. They are inexpensive so there is no reason for us to steal them."
"We don't write names on the shoes so there's no way for us to know who it belongs to, so there's no way we could purposely steal them to bully someone. Four memvs are the same size, 230, and from time to time we get confused about which shoe to wear. who it belongs to. At that time, I thought that I was wearing the wrong pair, but I never thought about stealing the shoes maliciously," continued Naeun.
The star of the drama "Extraordinary You" explained, "The tumbler incident is similar to the shoe incident. There are more than 100 tumblers in all parts of the dorm and in the cupboard above the sink. To the point that the janitor even once said that we have more tumblers than Starbucks. and we can set up a cafe."
"Many people ask if it's soy paste stew (doenjang) or extra strong fermented soybean paste (cheonggukjang), it's soybean paste soup. Because we're on a diet, we can't buy food at the agency cafeteria to eat, so we usually eat salad or fruit or something from the convenience store. My mom has made some frozen frozen soy paste stew blocks, and I heat it up, add tofu to it before putting it in a glass and bringing it on a schedule."
"The tumbler isn't the red one like Hyunjoo's sister said, but the light pink one. There's no name on it either. When I used it, Hyunjoo wasn't in the dormitory. Hyunjoo was always sick and did what she wanted, excluding training days and days -Rookie days, he always almost doesn't live in the dorm," said Naeun.
"I've never seen Hyunjoo use this glass regularly, nor did she say that it was a valuable item or a gift from her grandmother. That day, when she saw the glass on the spot, she became very angry and I immediately apologized. I finished eating soup with the members and wash the glasses clean when we get back to the dorm," said Naeun.
Previously, Hyunjoo's younger brother mentioned that APRIL members often wore his brother's shoes without permission. He said that it was only one example of the bad treatment that Hyunjoo received. (wk/chus)
