The popularity of Bangtan Boys (BTS) does not need to be doubted. Not only in Korea, this group also often reaps achievements overseas. Recently, BTS has again brought good news to fans. How could they not, they had just made history in England.
Yesterday, Wednesday (31/4), the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) officially announced the nominations for this year's BRIT Awards, and BTS won their first nomination. Widely considered the UK's most celebrated music awards ceremony, the BRIT Awards is an annual event that celebrates achievements in popular music.
For the upcoming 2021 BRIT Awards, BTS has been nominated for Best International Group, an award that was restored this year after a year's break. BTS is now the first Korean artist to score a BRIT Award nomination.
In the nomination they will face fellow famous musicians such as Foo Fighters, Run the Jewels, Haim, and Fontaines DC. No wonder many fans are happy and wholeheartedly support BTS in this award.
BTS itself had previously been nominated for the 2021 GRAMMY Awards, but it is said that they failed to bring home the trophy. In the program "Let's BTS" aired by KBS 2TV on Monday (29/3), the members shared about their songs and albums as well as their latest goals.
On their next goal, RM said, "Winning the Grammy Award is a physical goal, but ironically our aim now is to perform again in the stadium. To appear live is our goal." The members shared that the group specifically wants to perform the title track on "Map of the Soul: 7", "ON" live because it was released at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. (wk / daughter)
