GOT7 bid farewell to fans after their contract with JYP Entertainment officially ended today.

Through a handwritten letter containing a touching message for Ahgase (as GOT7's fans) uploaded to the official Instagram account on January 19, 2021, GOT7 expressed his feelings about separating from the agency that raised him for 7 years.
“Ahgase (short for GOT7 IGOT7 fan club name), this is GOT7. First of all, we feel very sorry to our Ahgase for writing letters for reasons like these. We parted ways without a contract extension with JYP [Entertainment], who started our beginning with us and worked hard for us to the end, as we supported each other's future. All of us, all of the members, will have a fresh start with people who will take joint responsibility for each of our individual futures. We write to you like this because we wanted to tell our fans first.
We know very well that no words can replace the feeling of hurt and discomfort felt by Ahgase.
However, we think there is only one thing we can really say to Ahgase as GOT7.
We all want to continue making music for Ahgase, share it together, and continue to spend time together in the future!
Rather than leaving memories with Ahgase, who supported and watched over us who were imperfect, in the past, we wanted to turn to the future with memories.
