"Mr. Queen" has presented its latest episode on Sunday (17/1) last night. After this episode aired, South Korean netizens criticized the hunting scene by Queen Kim So Yong (Shin Hye Sun) and concubine Jo Hwa Jin (Seol In Ah).
In this scene, the Queen and the concubines go hunting on the day of the banquet. They had to shoot the palace maids with arrows that had the ends covered with cloth. However, the cunning Jo Hwa Jin deliberately carried a metal arrow while hunting and aimed it near the tree where the queen was standing.
It didn't stop there, Jo Hwa Jin even cursed at the queen and accused her of murdering her favorite servant. Even though the queen has denied this, Jo Hwa Jin is still in disbelief and is filled with anger.
As the queen turned away with the other three concubines, Jo Hwa Jin even shot a cloth-coated arrow right into the back of her head. This action did not hurt the queen, but she still felt pain and became furious.
After being aired, this scene immediately flooded with criticism from South Korean netizens. Many of them called it absurd because a royal concubine would not commit such blatantly insolent acts. Check out some of their comments below.
"It's not that I'm angry with the character, but at the writer and director. How do they ignore the fact that he shot a spear at him and hit the back of the queen's head, saying his hand slipped? This is unrealistic," wrote a netter. "How can the concubine hit the queen's head? This doesn't make sense," added the other netters.
"How reasonable would it be if he shot a bad boy at the queen blatantly ??" said the other netters. "The author has gone too far. They really went overboard," said another. "She really crossed the line. What kind of concubine would dare to go against the queen's words and shoot an arrow at her head?" said another.
"Even though this is a fusion comic drama, it should at least make sense. A concubine who calls the queen by her name and there are effects and unrealistic reactions from others when she shoots arrows at the queen's head. How does that make any sense?" said another. "Isn't the act of shooting an arrow at the queen's head enough to make her accused of treason? Obviously, this is a drama with an absurd storyline," concluded the other netters.
