Lee Jong Suk has been serving in the military since March 2019. In December 2020, he will officially finish his duties.
The public is also asking about Lee Jong Suk's first project after his military service. The actor is also rumored to be making a cameo appearance in the sequel to The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion.
The news was finally responded directly by A-MAN Project, which is the management of Lee Jong Suk. The actor was indeed offered to appear in the sequel to the film as a cameo.
"Having a special closeness with director Park Hoon Jung through the film V.I.P, Lee Jong Suk was offered a special appearance on The Witch 2 (title still undetermined)," said the management.
"We will release an official statement regarding his appearance on The Witch 2 as well as about his first project after serving military service after the decision is made," he concluded.
Lee Jong Suk was previously offered to star in The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion. But in the end the project was not taken by the actor.
Previous sequels to The Witch have faced distribution problems. Warner Bros, who was supposed to invest in and be responsible for the distribution of this film, left the Korean film business.
This had brought the sequel to The Witch to a halt. Afterwards, STUDIO & NEW signed an investment contract with film director Park Hoon Jung's company.
So the production of The Witch 2 was continued with NEW as an investor and was in charge of distribution.
Before serving his mandatory military service, Lee Jong Suk was a Korean actor who actively appeared in a number of film and drama productions. He last starred in the drama Romance is a Bonus Book in 2019. While his last appearance on the big screen was through the film V.I.P, which aired in 2017.
