Before TREASURE Officially Debuted, One of its Members Namely Bang Yedam First Greet Fans through a Single Solo Project. Today, Friday (5/6), Yedam officially releases the MV for their solo single entitled 'WAYO'.
After a long wait, TREASURE fans slowly began to get a bright spot on the continuation of the group. Long not given certainty, YG Entertainment as the agency TREASURE finally announced the official boy group debut schedule. Although the exact date has not been announced yet, fans have been welcomed by one of the members' solo songs, Bang Yedam.
The boy group is scheduled to debut in July. Agency representatives confirmed that the date has not been determined, but TREASURE is certain to debut next July along with the BLACKPINK (Black Pink) comeback in June.
But before the official debut, one of the members namely Bang Yedam will first greet fans through his solo single project. Today, Friday (5/6), Yedam officially released the MV for his solo single entitled "WAYO".
In the MV, fans can feel Bang Yedam's emotional side as he tries to let go of the person he loves. Yedam seems frustrated and sad to realize that his relationship will not last. Yedam's sadness is increasingly felt from the strains of acoustic guitar and Yedam soft voice.
"WAYO" itself was written by Yedam seniors, Kang Seung Yoon Winner (II) and Lee Chan Hyuk Akdong Musician (AKMU). YG Entertainment clarified that this was because Bang Yedam had prepared his solo project long before TREASURE was formed so he had to release it.
This solo release was intended as a surprise gift for fans before TREASURE's official debut. Unfortunately, despite having officially debuted solo, this single will not be promoted by Bang Yedam in the music program.
Furthermore, YG stated that TREASURE "plans to release 3-4 new songs in a row starting from July to the end of the year". This is similar to BIGBANG's (Big Bang) strategy in 2006. TREASURE will participate in active promotions, including appearing on music shows from July to the end of the year.
