BTS makes history as the first Korean artist to exceed 20 million album sales on Gaon Chart

It was reported that BTS had set a new record with an album on the Gaon Chart. According to the Gaon Album Chart for March 2020, BTS has now sold more than 20 million albums.

Bangtan Boys (BTS) is endlessly scoring amazing records. After bringing a lot of records in 2019, BTS returned to harvesting this achievement in 2020.

It was reported that BTS has set a new record with an album on the Gaon Chart. According to the March 2020 Gaon Chart album released on April 9, BTS has now reached a total of 20,329,305 copies sold from their 14 albums.

This figure includes their release from their debut album "2 Cool 4 Skool" in 2013 to "Map Of The Soul: 7". Seven of their albums have scored million certifications from the Gaon Chart.

The seven albums include "WINGS" with sales of 1.13 million copies, "You Never Walk Alone" with 1.02 million, "Love Yourself: Her" with 2.22 million, "Love Yourself: Tear" with 2.21 million, "Love Yourself: Answer" with 2.59 million, "Map of the Soul: Persona" with 3.77 million, and most recently "Map of the Soul: 7" became Gaon's first quadruple album which was certified with 4 , 17 million copies sold.

This news was officially announced yesterday, Thursday (9/4), and was distributed that the total BTS sales first exceeded 20 million on the February Gaon Chart. This group reached the milestone of 10 million albums sold in November 2018, and because of that it only took one year and three months for BTS to sell more than 10 million more albums.

It didn't stop there, Big Hit Entertainment's representative also confirmed that BTS was the first K-Pop musician to win that number in Korean history. BTS is now the artist with the highest album sales.

"BTS has surpassed 20 million copies in total album sales as the first Korean pop music artist in history to do so, and they have now become the artists with the highest album sales," the agency representative said.

Meanwhile, it has just been announced that BTS will broadcast their concert recordings for years in a special event for fans who are staying at home. Today, Friday (10/4) at midnight, the group revealed news about their weekend online concert titled "BANG BANG CON". The event will be held from 18-19 April, starting at noon KST and streaming on the YouTube channel BANGTANTV.
