Police Deliver Latest Developments Regarding the Burning Sun Club Scandal Through Press Conference

Commissioner Won Kyung Hwan from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Office held a press conference this morning, Monday (1/4). He delivered the latest developments in connection with the Sun Burning club's mega scandal. Police revealed that they had set 103 suspects and arrested 13 people.

The Commissioner further revealed that they ensnared 53 people on charges of drug trafficking in the Burning Sun and other clubs, seven of whom had been imprisoned. Fifteen people were snared in the article and four people were arrested for using and / or distributing drugs in the Burning Sun. While 29 people were snared in the article and two people were arrested for doing the same thing in another club. Nine people were also charged and one was arrested for distributing Gamma-Hydroxybutyrate (GHB) which was allegedly used for rape.

On the other hand, an arrest warrant for Lee Moon Ho, CEO of Burning Sun who tested positive for drugs was rejected by the court. Seungri, who is one of the three main investors and the Burning Sun executive director, is still under investigation.

Seungri strongly denied everything he was accused of. Starting from providing prostitution services to foreign investors, bribing police officers to cover criminal activities, tax evasion and club Monkey Museum funds, overseas gambling, drug use, spreading illegally taken photos and much more.

Most recently, Seungri was accused of corruption. He was mentioned giving three tickets to Big Bang's concert to Senior Police Yoon.

"We retraced Yoon Police Senior's bank accounts and financial records and other allegedly corrupt police officers, conducted searches and seizures of golf clubs and offices, and reviewed call records to investigate employees who had at least exchanged telephone calls or met (with Seungri)," said Commissioner Won Kyung Hwan.

"We acknowledge public criticism that we have made slow progress with investigations to uncover corruption in the police. Even if it takes time, we will continue to provide periodic reports about the progress of the investigation to show that we are conducting a fair and transparent investigation," he concluded.
