Billboard Releases An Interview with Sunmi in the Sidelines of the Concert. In the Interview, Sunmi Discusses the Career, Music and Popularity of K-Pop in the International World.

Sunmi recently returned to greet fans with her new song titled "Noir". This song immediately became hits and trending on various social media. This song was also featured by Sunmi on a concert tour held throughout North America and Asia.

On Thursday (28/3), Billboard released an interview with Sunmi on the sidelines of the concert. In the interview Sunmi discussed career, music, and more.

In the interview Billboard mentioned Sunmi's career journey which was originally joined by the Wonder Girls group. Since then, Sunmi has become a famous Korean solo singer to promote in the international arena.

When asked how things had changed, Sunmi said that he did not believe what he had experienced. According to Sunmi, there were no opportunities for K-Pop to be on the Billboard chart. "I can't believe this," said Sunmi. "At that time, there was no K-pop section on the Billboard."

Billboard then praised the popularity of the Wonder Girls in America. According to the Billboard all that Sunmi achieved was partly because of the foundation the Wonder Girls did.

In response to this, Sunmi briefly replied that it was Bangtan Boys (BTS) that made it easier for K-Pop to promote in the international arena. "No, this is BTS," Sunmi answered briefly.

Sunmi himself started his career by joining the Wonder Girls in 2007. His name and Wonder Girls then soared thanks to their song "Nobody" trending around the world.

Following the success of this song, the Wonder Girls then released the English version of "Nobody". The song later became the first K-Pop song that was able to break the Billboard 100 chart in 2009. The song was later known by the whole world and managed to make the name of the Wonder Girls increasingly famous.

Sunmi released her first solo song in 2013 and then rejoined Wonder Gilrs in 2015. After the Wonder Girls broke up in 2017, she found her footing again as a solo singer and released her third solo single "Gashina" in 2017.
