Seungri is currently being overtaken by controversy over prostitution and illegal sex videos. The youngest member of Big Bang was discovered "channeling" the girls to clients and investors from abroad.

Following this controversy, Seungri stated that he retired from the entertainment industry. This was revealed by the 1990 born singer through his Instagram post last Monday (10/3).

Following the statement from Seungri, YG Entertainment released an official announcement today, Wednesday (13/3). The agency which also oversees Black Pink decided to end the exclusive contract with Seungri.

"Hello, this is YG Entertainment. Starting with the nightclub attack where Seungri was part of it, various suspicions and controversies continued to emerge. We lowered our heads and expressed deep apologies for causing problems for many people including fans.

"On March 12 following the announcement of Seungri's retirement, YG Entertainment agreed to Seungri's request and decided to terminate his exclusive contract.

"YG Entertainment recognizes that as an agency, we cannot regulate (our artists) fully and we reflect on mistakes. Finally, YG realizes the need for extensive changes and promises to make full efforts to achieve this together with our staff."
