The production team of 'Delusion' stated that they had been eyeing Suzy since the early planning stage. However, Suzy was once forced to turn down the role due to scheduling conflicts.
The casting news came from Suzy. On Tuesday (30/7), the actress born in 1994 was targeted to star in a new film titled "Delusion". This is a film that previously targeted Ryu Jun Yeol and Han So Hee as the main couple.
However, the casting process for Jun Yeol and So Hee was stopped following a scandal involving their romantic relationship at that time. Now, the production team has shifted to targeting Suzy to play the female lead character in "Delusion".
Showbox, which holds the IP rights to "Delusion", said that they had been eyeing Suzy for a long time. "We initially offered Suzy the role during the early planning stage, but she had to turn it down due to scheduling conflicts," said Showbox.
The production team of "Delusion" is also trying again to invite Suzy to join, now with a schedule that has been adjusted to the actress. "Now that the production schedule has been adjusted, she is positively reviewing the offer," added Showbox.
This casting news was immediately responded to by Management SOOP as Suzy's agency. The agency representative revealed, "Suzy has indeed received an offer to appear in Han Jae Rim's new film 'Delusion' and is currently reviewing it."
On the other hand, "Delusion" is the latest project from director Han Jae Rim, who previously worked on the Netflix series "The 8 Show" and the film "Emergency Declaration". Suzy has been offered the role of a vampire woman named Song Jeong Hwa.
If Suzy accepts, this will mark her first collaboration with director Han Jae Rim. "Delusion" is a film adapted from a popular webtoon of the same name set in Gyeongseong in 1935 and Shanghai in the 1800s.
"Delusion" follows the mysterious events involving artist Yoon Yi Ho, who is tasked with painting a portrait of a charming vampire woman, Jeong Hwa. As time goes by, Yoon becomes increasingly interested and entangled in the secrets of this mysterious woman.
