'Red Swan' recently received criticism because Rain's scenes were similar to Ji Chang Wook's from "The K2" which aired in 2016. Both of them save women.
"Red Swan" is still greeting viewers on the Disney+ streaming site in its Wednesday afternoon broadcast slot. This drama that pairs Rain and Kim Ha Neul actually received praise because of the extraordinary chemistry of the main pair.
However, "Red Swan" recently received criticism because of scenes similar to "The K2" which aired in 2016. This scene shows the moment when Seo Do Yoon (Rain) desperately protects Oh Wan Soo (Ha Neul).
The trailer for the latest episode of "Red Swan" shows Do Yoon driving Wan Soo. However, the enemy succeeded in hijacking the car's systems so they drove at high speed. The car eventually lost control and rolled over.
In the seconds before their car caught fire, Do Yoon still managed to get Wan Soo out of the car. The man carried Wan Soo in bridal style, even though his body was covered in wounds and blood.
Rain's scene in "Red Swan" immediately reminded viewers of Ji Chang Wook's epic moment in "The K2". In the drama, Kim Je Ha (Chang Wook) and Choi Yoo Jin (Song Yoon A) also drive together and the system in the car is hijacked by the enemy.
Je Ha thought of a way to keep them safe when the car's speed continued to increase. The car finally crashed in a road repair project area. Before the car caught fire, Je Ha still had time to save Yoo Jin who was trapped in the car.
Je Ha was also seen carrying Yoo Jin in a bridal style, before the man fell unconscious due to the injuries he suffered. The similarity between Rain and Chang Wook's scenes has also sparked accusations that "Red Swan" imitates scenes from "The K2".
"Copy and paste the K2 scene, why isn't the director really creative [sic!]," wrote one netizen. "Copy paste from K2[sic!]," added another. "This really gives the vibe of "The K2" from JCW[sic!]," said another netizen. (wk/charity)
