After all his struggles, Jin managed to please fans at the free hug event. However, the idol allegedly experienced harassment from fans who tried to kiss him.
Jin BTS recently had an interview with Weverse Magazine. On that occasion, the idol who was born in 1992 revealed his tough struggle behind the free hug event which was held the day after he officially left the army.
Jin said, "The fans probably don't want to hear this, but I tried really hard not to let those feelings sink in. I mean, it was the next day after I was discharged from the military. I think I would have cried if I started getting emotional."
Jin realized he had to put on a good show for the fans. "I couldn't let myself get so choked up that I couldn't sing. So I deliberately turned up the volume in my ears to try to drown out the emotions, and closed my eyes for the first song," he added.
Jin even tried a traditional Korean medicine pill called Cheongsimhwan to keep his nerves under control. "I actually did a cheongsimhwan test specifically for that appearance," added Jin, revealing another struggle.
Jin revealed that he took the pills long before he left the army. "I tried using cheongsimhwan when I returned to base after leave. I wanted to see first whether drinking it would make my throat dry or not, and how much it could stop my heart from beating fast," he said.
However, the pill apparently did not work as Jin hoped. "But it ended up making my throat very dry, and I was worried that my voice would crack when I wanted to sing," he continued. Jin tried another drug, but his heart was still racing.
After all his struggles, Jin succeeded in pleasing fans at the free hug event. However, the idol allegedly experienced harassment from fans who tried to kiss him. This fan's behavior made netizens angry.
This harassment finally entered the realm of law after the Seoul Songpa Police Department revealed that they received a report regarding two fans who were suspected of sexually harassing Jin. Police are currently considering whether the report requires further investigation. (wk/charity)
