DAY6's Young K is not only known as a talented singer, but also as one of the songwriters with the highest royalty earnings in the industry.

DAY6's Young K was suddenly attacked with statements about royalties. It is said that he earns more royalties than G-Dragon and Zico, this is the clarification from the owner of the western name Brian Kang.

Some time ago, on the JTBC television program "Knowing Bros," DAY6 members appeared as special guests. Specifically regarding Young K, one of the presenters, Lee Soo Geun, started asking whether it was true that the bassist's royalties were the highest compared to other artists.

"Young K, I heard you get one of the highest royalties from your copyrighted works compared to other artists in the industry," asked Soo Geun.

Then an article was displayed on the screen stating, "Young K earns more royalties than G-Dragon and Zico."

When asked again if he was taller than Teddy or Park Jin Young, Young K answered with a shy smile, "I'm not at the top yet. I'm not number one in Korea or anything. But I will continue to work hard to make it happen."

In fact, it wasn't just Young K who took part in writing songs and compositions, but also all DAY6 members. However, Young K himself has been writing songs since before his debut.

"I've been writing songs since before our debut. When the agency told me that I would be part of the band, they said, 'To really be a band, you have to produce your own songs and introduce the band through those songs.' It took several years for me to write songs properly, and that's why our debut was also delayed," he explained.

Among all DAY6's works, of course there are those that bring the most profit. Young K also mentioned which song had the most royalties compared to the others.

"'You Were Beautiful' is the song with my highest royalties. Since its release in 2017, this song has continued to stay in the top 100 on various major music charts in Korea," he said.

In addition, Young K also mentioned that the song "Rose Blossom" sung by H1-KEY was also a significant source of income. At first he felt strange about the feeling of getting royalties from songs sung by other people.

"I felt strange when the song started getting so much love, because the song was written a long time ago, even before I joined the military in 2021. The song existed before H1-KEY was formed. I think, it was well received because it found the right singer, he explained with a big smile.

Previously on MBC's "Omniscient Interfering View", Young K was revealed to be in third place overall in the field of songwriting copyright in South Korea. Young K's position at that time surprised many people because RM BTS was in second place, G-Dragon was in fifth place, and Zico was in sixth place. (wk/inta)
