According to Song Ji Hyo's side on Tuesday (2/5), Uzurocks initially promised to deposit unpaid settlements no later than May 1. But they postponed the schedule.
Song Ji Hyo finally filed a lawsuit against his agency, Uzurocks. This lawsuit arose because Uzurocks failed to complete payments to the "Running Man" members on the date they promised.
According to Ji Hyo's side on Tuesday (2/5), Uzurocks initially promised to deposit the unpaid settlement no later than May 1. Ji Hyo believed in their promise and waited until midnight on May 1.
But Uzurocks suddenly changed their words saying "We will pay the settlement on the 4th". This is not the first time the agency has delayed payments.
"We waited because they promised to pay on the 1st, but Uzurocks changed their words and postponed the deadline to the 4th. This is similar to when they failed to pay employee salaries on time," said Ji Hyo's party.
Ji Hyo's side added, "This is not the first time that they have delayed payment, so we cannot allow this situation to continue. In the end, Song Ji Hyo had no choice but to file a lawsuit to claim settlement."
According to local media reports, Ji Hyo signed an exclusive contract with Uzurocks without a contract deposit. There is a condition that the actress born in 1981 immediately receives appearance fees for variety shows, such as "Running Man".
But the profits from shooting advertisements and other activities are distributed between the agency and Ji Hyo. The conflict between the two parties arose when the Uzurocks failed to pay for the advertising costs for the drama star "The Witch's Diner".
Previously, Uzurocks also faced controversy because it had not paid the salaries of its employees and four main insurances. In addition, external costs, such as those for stylists, were reportedly not resolved.
The agency then announced that they would pay the employees' salaries, severance pay, and four major insurances on the 10th of this month. Meanwhile, Uzurocks CEO Park Joo Nam recently resigned due to his responsibility for the financial difficulties that befell the agency. (wk/charity)
