Gap Soo criticized Park Eun Bin's ethics when he won the Daesang at the 2023 Baeksang Arts Awards. The man even asked Eun Bin to learn from Song Hye Kyo.
Critic and poet Kim Gap Soo appeared as a guest on the YouTube channel "Jung Young Jin, Choi Wook's Maebul Show" on Monday (8/5). The poet was asked about his criticism of Park Eun Bin which went viral.
The host Choi Wook initially said, “You criticize (Park Eun Bin's) award-winning attitude. You criticize her stiffness by saying 'Don't cry', 'You are too emotional', 'Stop greeting'… There are over 500 articles on this issue. People wonder if it's noise marketing."
Gap Soo also admitted his mistake in scathingly criticizing Eun Bin. "If it sounds like that even though I had no intention of targeting Park Eun Bin, I was wrong when I said it," said Gap Soo giving an explanation.
Gap Soo then added, "Words like 'It's strange to express gratitude without content in acceptance speech', 'Excessive behavior in the name of politeness' are usually my favorite theories." After admitting his mistake, he satirized another actor.
"There are other actors who are too exaggerated, but I mentioned Park Eun Bin, the Grand Prize winner, because that person was not present. When I talk about the act of crying with joy, my expression becomes people's ridicule. I just want people to think about emotional control or excessive behavior at least once," continued Gap Soo.
Gap Soo unexpectedly praised Eun Bin's speech. "Park Eun Bin's victory speech is good. I forgot to mention that the content is good. Park Eun Bin is a great actress and I have no intention of targeting her," continued the critic.
But Gap Soo was reluctant to apologize to the public for his criticism of Eun Bin. "Even if I don't express my thoughts well, it doesn't mean I'm wrong," concluded the poet.
Previously Gap Soo criticized the ethics shown by Eun Bin when he won the Daesang at the 2023 Baeksang Arts Awards. The man even said, "If he is over 18 years old, he must have self-respect. Learn from Song Hye Kyo." (wk/charity)
