Yoo Ah In Suspected of Using Drugs
Netflix is taking action regarding Yoo Ah In's upcoming project which is worried because of positive indications for using propofol as the authorities suspect.

Yoo Ah In is currently under investigation for alleged drug abuse. Regarding the test results of the owner of the name Uhm Hong Sik showing positive for using an abnormal amount of propofol, Netflix finally took action.

Previously, the film and drama industry was worried because Yoo Ah In still had a list of upcoming projects that had not yet aired. Some of them, such as "The Match", "Goodbye Earth" and "Hellbound 2" will be launched by Netflix, so that the streaming platform will also be affected if the actor is punished for his actions.

On Friday (24/2), Netflix via Xport News released a brief statement regarding Yoo Ah In's upcoming project. They are currently discussing with the production team for the continuity of the future project.

"We are currently in discussions with the production team regarding the current situation," Netflix said.

Previously on February 23, the National Forensic Service confirmed that actor Yoo Ah In tested positive for propofol in a hair and body check. Previously, components of cannabis were reported to be found through urine tests.

According to reports, the police plan to summon Yoo Ah In as a suspect on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act. It is not yet certain that he committed an illegal act, the police intend to conduct an investigation.

In the annual press conference of the Ministry of Food and Drug Supervisory Agency, the Yoo Ah In case was also mentioned. They found Uhm Hong Sik's name in a database listing excessive propofol users.

By 2022, there is a database of more than 650 million suspected propofol users, with a total of 51 people including doctors and patients being investigated by the police. The ministry said that they were targeting celebrities to investigate so they could find Yoo Ah In's track record.

Meanwhile, Yoo Ah In has been bound by accusations of using illegal propofol for asking for prescriptions from 10 clinics in Gangnam-gu and Seocho-gu since 2021. Regarding these accusations, the agency promised that the actor would cooperate in the investigation. (wk/inta)
