In the latest Instagram post, Mingyu SEVENTEEN uploaded a video with his edits accompanied by NewJeans' song 'Ditto'. Claiming to be 'Hype Boy', Mingyu was then 'attacked' by members of his own group.

The popularity of NewJeans is no doubt. Senior labels including SEVENTEEN (II) also often support them. Recently, Mingyu linked himself to the song "Hype Boy".

On Friday (24/2), Mingyu uploaded a video of himself accompanied by the song "Ditto" from NewJeans. The short video shows Mingyu's visuals with a vintage filter which further revives the old school vibe like the girl group concept released by ADOR.

Claiming "Hype Boy" as in the song, Mingyu in the caption said, "I'm a 'Hype Boy'."

Apparently the post didn't only make fans excited, Mingyu also harvested protests from other SEVENTEEN members in the comments column. Monitored by several members of his own group jokingly denying that Mingyu is a "Hype Boy".

"Who said that?" he said. "What are you talking about?" asked Seungkwan.

In response to his two friends, Mingyu said, "So why (to Vernon), you're a HYBE boy (to Seungkwan)."

Mingyu's words to Seungkwan referred to HYBE, Pledis Entertainment's parent company, as well as a play on their status.

S.Coups also appeared in the comments just to say, "Detox boy." This was followed by Woozi making a savage comment reading, "Ahjussi, you are so weird."

Protesting back at the other members' responses, Mingyu wondered why they were behaving that way. "Why are you guys like this to me?" complained Mingyu.

Meanwhile, Mingyu and SEVENTEEN have debuted since 2015. Throughout 2022, this 13-member boy group is actively releasing music and holding the "Be The Sun" world tour in 21 cities and performing 29 shows whose tickets are selling well. (wk/inta)
