On February 22, 2023, the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), a non-profit organization representing the worldwide music recording industry, shared its annual rankings of the past year's top global artists. This chart measures worldwide consumption of all formats and looks at an artist's entire work, not just their releases over the past year.
This year's chart features three Korean groups. BTS comes in at Number 2. In 2021, BTS made history as the first Asian artist to win the IFPI Global Recording Artist of the Year Award.
Last year, the group set a new record after occupying the top spot for the second year in a row. BTS's latest ranking marks their fifth appearance in the top 10 of the IFPI Global Artists Chart and fourth time in the top two.
At No. 2 this year is BTS, following their record 2 consecutive tops. This marks their 5th appearance in the IFPI #GlobalArtistChart Top 10 since their debut in 2018, and 4th time in the Top 2.
In sixth place is SEVENTEEN, who have now made it into the top 10 for the second year in a row. SEVENTEEN has been very busy around the world this year, with the release of their fourth studio album Face the Sun, first feature film, and third Japanese EP, as well as their third world tour.
Stray Kids has made their IFPI Global Artist Chart top 10 debut at Number 7. In 2022, the group released numerous hit EPs that topped global charts, solidifying the group's worldwide popularity. / celebrities. id
