Park Min Young's Ex-boyfriend Called Prosecutors as a Suspect

Park Min Young's ex-boyfriend, a rich CEO named Kang Jong Hyun, was summoned by the authorities as a suspect in the case that was wrapped around him. Previously, CEO Kang's sister had also been investigated.

Park Min Young's ex-boyfriend, businessman Kang Jong Hyun has reportedly been summoned by the prosecutor's office as a suspect. Some time ago the name Kang Jong Hyun had attracted attention because his relationship with the beautiful actress Park Min Young was dismantled by Dispatch.

Based on JTBC's report, the Financial Investigation Division 2 of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutor's Office summoned Kang Jong Hyun for investigation on Monday (9/1). In this case, Kang Jong Hyun is mentioned as the real owner of the Bithumb virtual asset service provider.

The summons this time is the development of the prosecutor's investigation into allegations that Kang Jong Hyun disturbed the capital market. The businessman is suspected of manipulating the share price and siphoning the company's money.

Following a Bithumb-related company seizure and search, the investigation was extended to company executives and employees. In December 2022, the executive of Bithumb's largest shareholder, Vindete, was charged with destroying and concealing evidence.

Kang Ji Yeon, Kang Jong Hyun's younger sister and CEO of Vindete, was summoned for questioning last week. Afterward, the prosecution plans to focus on investigating allegations that Kang Jong Hyun and Kang Ji Yeon spread false information about Bithumb to manipulate stock prices, steal company money, and create illicit funds through the frequent issuance of convertible bonds.

Previously, since Park Min Young's dating rumors spread, their relationship was widely associated with the case that was wrapped around Kang Jong Hyun. Even Park Min Young's sister is also known to lead a company.

The statement regarding Park Min Young's breakup came out after a SBS report appeared that there were allegations that Park Min Young's sister sat on the board of directors of INBIOGEN, the company bought by Kang Jong Hyun's brother. According to Dispatch, Kang Jong Hyun is the de facto CEO of the company.

However, when Park Min Young was confirmed to have broken up, the agency emphasized that the actress had nothing to do with the Kang Jong Hyun case. Park Min Young emphasized that he never received financial support from Kang Jong Hyun. (wk/inta)
