SNSD Taeyeon Case Becomes Victim of Billion Won Property Fraud Shows Development

The Real Estate Fraud Case With SNSD's Taeyeon Being One Of The Victims Shows Progress. This case was thrown by the authorities.

The property fraud case where the victim was reported to be SNSD's Tae Yeon (Girls' Generation) has entered a new chapter. This planned real estate fraud case will be handed over to the prosecutor's office.

On Monday (28/11), the Seoul Police Agency announced that they had sent about 20 officials including representatives of a well-known real estate company, on charges of fraud to prosecutors. They were charged with the Law on Severe Punishment for Special Economic Crimes and for violating the Agricultural Land Act.

They were accused of receiving 250 billion won (approximately Rp. 2.9 trillion) from selling 3,000 victims. They deceive victims by sharing classified development information regarding land in Songpa-gu and Gangdong-gu in Seoul, Wonju in Gangwon-do, and Pyeongtaek in Gyeonggi-do.

Planned real estate fraud is a fraudulent method of reselling land shares to an unspecified number of people at high prices. Victims are tricked into promises of no construction ban or that the ban will be lifted. The land they promoted was designated as an absolute conservation area like a "biotope" which is the habitat of certain organisms in the city, making development practically impossible.

The police received complaints from the victims in July last year. They then conducted an investigation and sent the 10 people concerned to the public prosecutor's office. However in December of the same year, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office requested an additional investigation, they took back the case and handed it back to the prosecution.

In particular, Taeyeon's family is among the victims. At that time, Taeyeon's father reportedly bought land in Hanam, Gyeonggi-do on behalf of Taeyeon.

But regarding this, Taeyeon explained that her family bought the land for household needs. They don't buy it for speculative purposes.

"My wish is to build a house for my family that will be a little closer to where I work and live. Creating a place for my family is my dream. With my family's approval, my parents immediately checked and decided to buy it because they also have the same dream as me," said Taeyeon . (wk/inta)
