MBC's newest drama for the Friday-Saturday slot, Big Mouth has aired. The drama, starring Lee Jong Suk and SNSD's Yoona, managed to get a rating of 6.2 percent for its first episode.
Launching Kbizoom, Sunday (31/7/2022), the rating is apparently lower than the pre-order recorded by viewers, which is seven percent. However, the rating is also higher than the first episode of its predecessor drama, "Doctor Lawyer" starring So Ji Sub and Im So Hyang, which only got 5.2 percent.
Even though the rating was lower than the expected pre-order, "Big Mouth" still came first. In fact, ignoring the rating of "Today's Webtoon" which aired on SBS and starred Choi Daniel and Kim Sejeong. The drama only gained 4.1 percent.
"Big Mouth" itself tells the story of lawyer Park Chang Ho (Lee Jong Suk) who was arrested on charges of murder. To save himself and protect his family, he digs into the corruption case of South Korea's elite.
In the first episode, Park Chang Ho and his wife, Go Min Ho (played by Girls' Generation's Yoona), were seen living a normal life as a couple. However, netizens are also divided with the mystery genre themed law. Not a few of them leave comments in online communities.
"I'm tired of legal drama now," wrote a netizen.
"I'm really looking forward to this drama, but this (drama) is not for fun," wrote another netizen.
"The acting of the actors is very good," wrote a netizen.
"I will watch until episode 2 and decide whether to continue or not after," wrote another netizen.
The chemistry between Lee Jong Suk and SNSD's Yoona has been anticipated. The reason is, the actor and the idol have been known to be friends since their trainee days. So that the interaction between the two is expected to achieve a good picture on the screen.
