In His Interview With Weverse Magazine, V Revealed That Tony Bennett Is One Of His Favorite Jazz Musicians And He Likes The Way Lady Gaga Performs Jazz.
BTS's V (Bangtan Boys) may be a young man in his twenties, but as a jazz lover, he spends his time playing the saxophone and trumpet and listening to music from the older generation. He recently told Weverse Magazine what the genre means to him and how he was inspired by his greatest jazz idol, Lady Gaga.
V got a chance to meet Lady Gaga at the 2022 GRAMMY where the two exchanged sweet interactions. In his interview, V revealed that Tony Bennett is one of his favorite jazz musicians and he likes the way Lady Gaga performs jazz.
"I watch too many videos of Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett performing together. Tony Bennett is one of my favorite jazz musicians and I really like the way Lady Gaga performs jazz. So I can say I'm a huge fan, I really enjoy listening to your music and I really believe it. You are the jazz queen of this generation," said V.
A fan of the genre since he was young, V revealed that he grew up listening to jazz music and became more and more attracted to it as he grew older.
"If you like something for a long time, the feeling increases, and every time I like something, I end up doing something about it. I grew up listening to a lot of jazz that I love, and I feel like that's the style of music I want to do now." ," he said.
Even V's online presence gives off an old jazzy vibe. Her Instagram videos feature her dancing in a carefree manner while her photos tend to have a classic feel familiar to jazz fans.
"I've always been like that—it's just my personal style. I thought there was no need to post things like that to a group account because it's my personal style and private life. But I don't know what to post after I finally got my own social media account ( laugh) so I decided to only post things I like. I can show off my personal talent on that account. I don't think I need to worry about what other people think about it," said V.
Like the free nature of jazz, V is not methodical about his posts. In fact, he often posts according to the current mood or feeling he wants to describe.
"I just shoot whatever. I don't have the ability to put my photos together in a nice way like Hobi does, and I can't express my feelings consistently like Namjoon does. I think it's different every day — do I feel good every day?" that, or if there's something I want to upload. It all depends on who I am that day.
