Jungkook BTS (Bangtan Boys) opened up about how it feels not to win the Grammy Awards even though he has been nominated twice through the latest interview with Weverse Magazine.
Since debuting in 2013, BTS's popularity has soared globally. The group fronted by RM (Rap Monster) et al has garnered the attention of some of the biggest events and celebrities around the world.
In particular, BTS' global dominance was marked when they were first invited to the Grammy Awards in 2019. After that, the group was nominated but hasn't actually won an award.
Recently Jungkook sat down for an interview with Weverse. The 1997-born idol spoke honestly about BTS's experience with the Grammy Awards.
During the interview, Jungkook explained that the proof (referring to BTS' latest album "Proof") came from the members. According to Jungkook, their status and popularity is more than winning any awards, such as the Grammys.
"I think our status is there whether we win a Grammy or not. It's just, I don't know, maybe a good experience?" Jungkook said.
However, the next part of the answer really shows the idol's maturity and true personality. Rather than getting angry or upset about it, Jungkook has a more calm approach to the fact that BTS has yet to win an award.
"It made me realize that, while I knew winning a Grammy Award was a big thing, I wasn't really interested in winning it," he said.
Jungkook then shared that, for him, there are more important ways to prove himself as a musician. However, he did not discredit the event and shared that it was a unique experience.
"I'm more interested in proving myself through my music. And it's great to see performances from people I've never seen in person before," he continued.
ARMYs couldn't stop praising Jungkook for his mature response to the question. This not only shows Jungkook's dedication to BTS's music but also it has no impact on him. (wk/chus)
