Several K-pop groups managed to occupy the top position of Billboard's World Albums Chart. Anyone?
Call it SEVENTEEN, TXT, BTS, NCT DREAM, BLACKPINK, and ITZY. This K-Pop group successfully landed their album on this prestigious achievement.
Quoting Soompi, Thursday (16/6/2022), SEVENTEEN's latest album Face the Sun rose to number 1 on this week's World Albums Chart. This achievement also became the group's first album to enter the top 10 of the Billboard 200.
Face the Sun also peaked at number one on Billboard's Top Album Sales chart and Top Current Album Sales chart, and debuted at number 13 on the Tastemaker Albums chart. SEVENTEEN has re-entered the Artist 100 at number five this week while HOT remains at number nine on the World Digital Song Sales Chart.
After three consecutive weeks at number one on the World Albums chart, TXT's newest mini album minisode 2: Thursday's Child is at number 2 this week. minisode 2: Thursday's Child also has four consecutive weeks in the top 60 of the Billboard 200. This makes it the first K-pop album of 2022 to have four consecutive weeks in the Top 100 of the chart.
Meanwhile, BTS earned a total of six albums to chart on the World Albums chart: Map of the Soul: 7 rose to number five, followed by Love Yourself: Her at number six, BE at number seven, Love Yourself: Tear at number eight, and Love Yourself: Answer at number 10, while Skool Luv Affair re-entered the chart at number 14.
Meanwhile, NCT DREAM Beatbox's repackaged album debuted at number ninth on this week's chart.
While BLACKPINK continued their impressive streak, THE ALBUM rose to number 11 for 88 consecutive weeks on the chart.
Lastly, ITZY's 2021 album CRAZY IN LOVE re-enters the chart at number 15 for its 32nd week on the chart.
