Although he hasn't released his latest solo music yet, BIGBANG's G-Dragon admits that he keeps abreast of music developments from musicians around the world who think he's very creative.
When it comes to G-Dragon's popularity as a member of the Big Bang group, there is no doubt about it. How not, almost all the appearance styles that he wears and stretchers become trendsetters or the center of role fashion, be it clothes or music.
During an interview with Vogue Korea, G-Dragon talked about himself as a singer as well as 33-year-old Kwon Ji Yong. On the question of whether there is new music that he finds interesting and fresh, G-Dragon confessed that he listens to all artists around the world.
"I can listen to and admire the creations of artists all over the world. It's a great privilege and pleasure. I have an appreciation for so much I've met, so I can't narrow it down to what's fresh and interesting. Everything is great. From the new way of language it was used up to popular memes online, I found it all interesting," he said.
As an artist, G-Dragon also talked about how he likes reading books these days. "I've been reading a lot lately. I also watch at least two movies a day. I love reading and getting new inspiration. To be honest, I'm just as curious about my own interests as everyone else's," she said.
"Curiosity is an important part of who I am and this world has many things to be curious about. And over time, my curiosity expanded and thoughts about art became more diverse," he said. When he had to make a distinction between Kwon Ji Yong and G-Dragon, he discussed where his driving force came from.
I would say that it changes over time. But as an individual, Kwon Ji Yong is driven by dreams and values. As an artist, G-Dragon is empowered and nurtured by fans. I got to this place through music, and I will continue to make music because of the people who have paid for the effort and love me."
"There are standards set, core values and people I really care about. I have tried to respect these things in my daily life and doing so has helped me to pay more attention to details and find the strength to grow," she later said.
Meanwhile, G-Dragon recently with his group members Big Bang has released a music product titled "Still Life". Despite making a comeback for the first time after 4 years of hiatus from the music industry, the song "Still Life" has received much love from fans all over the world. (wk/taki)
