The new tvN drama "Alchemy of Souls" has successfully started its premiere with a promising rating. The drama, which stars Jung So Min, Lee Jae Wook, and NU'EST's Hwang Minhyun, tells the story of characters whose fates are twisted due to magic that changes people's souls. According to Nielsen Korea, the June 18 premiere of “Alchemy of Souls” earned an average nationwide rating of 5.2 percent, taking first place in its time slot on all cable channels.


The new drama also took first place in its time slot among the main demographic of viewers aged 20 to 49, with a national average score of 2.8 percent. While switching to public broadcast networks, So Ji Sub's new drama "Doctor Lawyer" broadcast on MBC achieved the highest viewership ratings with its sixth episode, scoring an average nationwide rating of 6.9 percent.


Then there's "Why Her?" SBS, which airs in the same time slot as “Doctor Lawyer,” continued its reign as the most-watched miniseries on Saturday with an average nationwide rating of 8.8 percent, taking first place in its time slot across all channels. This romance mystery drama also took first place among viewers aged 20 to 49, with an average rating of 3.1 percent.


Meanwhile, JTBC's new drama "Cleaning Up" dropped to an average nationwide rating of 2.0 percent for its fifth episode.
