TWICE's contract extension with its agency JYP Entertainment has recently become a topic of discussion because many expect this one girl group to continue their activities together.

A contract period system is enforced to join the agency so that K-Pop groups and artists can carry out their work. Following the rules laid down by the Fair Trade Commission in 2009 that limit the validity of contracts to seven years, attention is focused on girl group TWICE who will be renewing their contract with JYP Entertainment.

In particular, the nine-member group that debuted in 2015 will renew its contract with the company in 2022. There are divided opinions if this "Nation's Girl Group" will remain at the agency or follow in the footsteps of GOT7 who chose to leave JYP. Then, become a self-owned group while pursuing their respective solo careers.

Although there are strong opinions from netizens that the team might renew their contract. There are also netizens who are skeptical about it.

However, this concern seemed to reap new hope after Jeongyeon sent a message on the paid messaging application Bubble Lysn on June 12. Jeongyeon, who was constantly communicating with fans at that time, especially attracted attention after she indirectly confirmed it as well as TWICE's contract renewal with JYP.

"We have videos (content) that are packed until October. So if I have to work on 'Melody Project', I have to do it after October. You can look forward to it next year," said Jeongyeon, who accidentally leaked TWICE's schedule.

Apparently, a fan asked Jeongyeon about her plans to do "Melody Project". It is a video content project launched by TWICE under JYP Entertainment to showcase their solo skills through their own music video.

This project started in 2016, and so far, Jeongyeon has not shown her own ability for the project. After hearing Jeongyeon's statement at the time, fans expressed hope for the renewal of all TWICE members.

Meanwhile, last month, TWICE members recently opened their personal Instagram accounts. This is the first time that TWICE has opened a personal social media account since their debut and some responded that they all hinted at renewing their contracts through opening personal Instagram accounts.
